Also known as “the frozen lakes” Gosaikunda Trek commences in Dhunche in the Langtang area, ascends up to the Gosaikunda holy lake at 4400 meters, goes down through Helambu area as part of the Helambu circuit trek & concludes at Sundarijal, 30 minutes from Kathmandu. The alpine lakes of Gosaikunda are a little more adventurous, but renowned and sacred to Buddhists, Hindus and Tamang Shamans alike. The ideal time to undergo this trek is in the month of August when thousands of pilgrims trek up to take a dip in the freezing waters at 4000 meters and you’re in for a lifetime experience. The woodlands & the mountain scenery on the way are also incredible.

Gosainkunda Trek offers the trekkers an exceptional & assorted voyage through the sacred lakes of Gosainkunda. Gosaikunda Trek / Gosaikunda Lake Trek climbs more steeply to Gosaikunda area via farmland & above the tree line up an alpine border that provides a generous Himalayan panorama, to arrive at a rock-strewn bowl embellished with holy high altitude lakes. There’re 108 lakes in this region, but the most renowned are Gosaikunda (4460m), Saraswatikunda and Ganesh Kunda nearby each other. It is a simple trail with the astounding amount of steep ascends & stiff descents, of the thick woodland or across freezing moraines through Ghopte to Chisopani to Kathmandu. This trek provides a perfect trek for those people that don’t have enough time but wants to explore Nepal’s distinctive combination of landscapes, cultures, beautiful mountains & varied wildlife and vegetation. From plain forests packed with wildlife to alpine pastures, immaculate lakes, incredible mountain sights and a possibility to witness the unique lifestyle of the native Tamang people, this trek is going to be a memorable one from every perspective.
 
Most attraction of Gosainkunda trek lies around 4,000 m – 4,500 m above sea level. So the impacts of altitude sickness can’t be avoided. If adequate workout & practices are pursued in systematic order then altitude sickness isn’t a great deal. Therefore, exercise related to lungs and high adoption like cycling, extreme climbing, Muscles expanding, incredible activities sets ups can display perfect preparation.
