Flight Information about Kathmandu and Lukla Everest High Passes Trekking:

For going Everest Region Trekking, we have to fly from Kathmandu to Lukla by small Twin Otter plane. Lukla airport is Nepal’s domestic airport and Himalaya region airport so there is no more facility like in other airport. In sometimes, flight will be cancelled or delayed due to mountain weather or some technical problems of aircraft. In that case, you have to pay for extra days bill in Kathmandu or Lukla. If flight cancelled and you have international flight in such case, 

Nepal Government has announced flight schedule to Lukla from Kathmandu has shifted from Ramechhap until further notice to avoid the heavy traffic congestion traffic in Kathmandu airport. The Ramechhap airport is located 130KM far from Kathmandu and approximately 4 hours driving.

 If you avoid flight from/ to Ramechhap to Lukla to Ramechhap then another option is Helicopter Charter for 5 people. Generally Helicopter charge is USD500.00 per person for one way. Day to Day Itinerary

Meet by our Himalayan Asia Treks representative in airport and transfer to the hotel. Our representative assists to check in hotel process and give short brief about program. You can take rest and fresh. You can walk in evening in Thamel (tourist hub of Kathmandu). Overnight in Kathmandu.

At early morning, transfer to the domestic airport for taking flight towards Lukla (2860m). Upon arrival on the airport your guide gives you brief and introduce other staff. We start our first day Everest Base Camp Gokyo Lake Trek descending towards Dudhkoshi River, from where we can join main trail to Namche Bazar. The walking is easy and after passing a village of Ghat, after short walking we reach Phakding.

We start Everest Base Camp Gokyo Lake Trek towards Phakding after in breakfast in Namche Bazar. We walk through Dudhkoshi River, where we can see many times exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. There are snow peaks Kusum Kanguru (6369m) and Thamserku (6623m). The trail continues upstream on generally flat terrain, crossing back to the right bank, to the confluence of the Bhote Koshi and Dudh Koshi River. From here, trail ascent to the Namche bazaar. Namche bazaar is called gateway of Mt. Everest.

We do hiking start up 3 to 4 hour climb up from the Namche, and at 3,500 meters, traditionally the village was a trading post, with locals bartering yak cheese and butter for agricultural goods grown at lower altitudes. Our destination is for today is Machherma . Today trek is easy and short comparatively. From Dole, the trail descends to stream and cross wooden bridge. We reach at Lapharma village and after 2.5 hrs reach at Luja with spectacular views of snow Peak and Mountain. Explore Machherma.

 We start our trek with climbing a ridge for an exotic view down the valley to Kangtaiga. The trails follow Pangkha and descend to the river bank and pass metal bridge. Today, we explore Gokyo, where you can see a magnificent view. We move towards fourth Lake of Gokyo. After 1hr, we move towards fifth Lake of Gokyo. From the fifth lake, we can see a spectacular view of Mt. Everest. After taking lunch, we move towards Gokyo Ri. From Gokyo, we can see a panoramic view of from Gokyo Ri. We can see an amazing view of Mt. Everest and other snow-capped mountains.

We move towards Dzongla after your breakfast. Today, we hike towards a fields and a steep but easy snow slope lead in two hours to the summit of the south Cho-la pass (5380m.) a flat glacier plateau with magnificent views to east and west. Descend the snow –covered glacier to a beautiful glen at Dzongla.

We start our trek towards Pheriche with keeping memories of Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar.
