Best time to go on Everest Base Camp Gokyo Cho La Pass Trekking:

The best time to go on Everest Base Camp Gokyo Cho La Pass trek is from spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). You can also go on Gokyo Chola Pass trek in January, however, the cold weather might not be the best fit for everyone. Similarly, during the monsoon the region receives rainfall, which makes the trail slippery and dangerous.

Flight Information about Kathmandu and Lukla Everest Base Camp Gokyo Cho La Pass Trekking :

For going Everest Region Trekking, we have to fly from Kathmandu to Lukla by small Twin Otter plane. Lukla airport is Nepal’s domestic airport and Himalaya region airport so there is no more facility like in other airport. In sometimes, flight will be cancelled or delayed due to mountain weather or some technical problems of aircraft. In that case, you have to pay for extra days bill in Kathmandu or Lukla. If flight cancelled and you have international flight in such case, 

Nepal Government has announced flight schedule to Lukla from Kathmandu has shifted from Ramechhap until further notice to avoid the heavy traffic congestion traffic in Kathmandu airport. The Ramechhap airport is located 130KM far from Kathmandu and approximately 4 hours driving.

 If you avoid flight from/ to Ramechhap to Lukla to Ramechhap then another option is Helicopter Charter for 5 people. Generally Helicopter charge is USD500.00 per person for one way. Helicopter charter service is not guaranteed. After confirmation your Everest Three Passes Trek, we will coordinate with Helicopter company for charter for your easy transport.

Day to Day Itinerary

Meet by our Himalayan Asia Trek representative in airport and transfer to the hotel. Our representative assists to check in hotel process and give short brief about program. You can take rest and fresh. You can walk in evening in Thamel (tourist hub of Kathmandu).
Overnight in Kathmandu.

After taking breakfast in hotel, your guide pick up from hotel and transfer to airport for taking flight towards Lukla. The flight is amazing and can see beautiful view of many snowcapped mountain. Today is the first day of Everest Base Camp Gokyo Lakes Cho La Pass Trek. From Lukla, we follow the trail of bank of Dudh Koshi river and experience suspension bridges.

Overnight in Phakding.

Finishing breakfast, we start our trek towards Namche Bazar. We follow upstream on generally flat terrain. We cross Dudh Koshi river, Monjo village and suspension bridges and steep ascent to the Namche Bazar.

Namche Bazar is known as the Gate way of Everest and famous places for acclimatized for Everest Trekking Packages. From Namche Bazar, we can breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde and so on. We will hike around Namche Bazar for warm up our trekking. We will trek upwards Everest View hotel and Khumjung Village.

Overnight in Namche Bazar.

We pass beautiful view on the way. We go slightly down towards Thame. Thame is the last point Khumbu valley and can see old civilization. We can see large praying flags, Chorten, carved Mani stones.

Overnight in Phorste Village.

  • Location: Phorste Village.
  • Altitude: 3680m.

The day starts taking breakfast in Phorste Village; we start our trekking towards Machherma. We climb through a ridge and descending towards Kengtega with exploring panoramic view of Himalayan. Then, we climb up towards up Cho Oyu and walk down towards river and again climb up the moraine of the Ngozumpz glacier.

  • Altitude: 4470m.

Today is one of the wonderful days because we will reach Gokyo Valley. Gokyo Valley is one of the most beautiful places in Everest Base Camp Gokyo Lakes Cho La Pass Trek. After reaching in Gokyo , we explore Gokyo Valley hiking around there.

Overnight in Gokyo.

  • Location: Gokyo.
  • Altitude: 4790m.

We will walk upside where we will explore different lakes. There are stunning view from Gokyo Cho Oyu , Gyachung Kang, Everest , Lhotse , Nuptse and Makalu. We back towards Gokyo.
Overnight in Gokyo.

  • Location: Gokyo.
  • Altitude: 5843m.

Today, we descend towards Thangna with seeing views of the mountain, glacier and natural beauty. We reach at the foot of the Cho la Pass. We will discuss about tomorrow our final destination Cho La Pass.

  • Altitude: 4650m.

Today is the final destination of Everest Base Camp Gokyo Lakes Cho La Pass Trek .At early morning; we start our trek around 4 am – 5 am. We will pass Cho la pass before 9-10 am because of strong wind in Cho La Pass. We ascend slightly along the valley towards Cho La pass which is covered by rock. From here you can enjoy with panoramic view. We reach at Dzongla.

Overnight in Dzongla.

We will refresh in morning and start another destination towards Lobuche. Today route is easier then past days. We pass beautiful summit of Cholatse and Taboche and small glacier.

  • Location: Lobuche.
  • Altitude: 4910m.

Today is another important day for Everest hikers because of us reach highest peak’s base camp name Everest Base Camp. After taking some snap shots in Everest Base Camp , we return to Gorakhshep.

Overnight in Gorakhshep.

  • Location: Gorakhshep.
  • Altitude: 5180m.

At early morning, we hike towards Kala Patthar which is the famous place for Everest. From Kala Patthar, we can see 360 degree view of Mt. Everest and other snow mountain peak. We descend towards Pheriche with taking memories of Mt. Everest and other beautiful in Everest Region.
Overnight in Pheriche.

  • Location: Pheriche.
  • Altitude: 4200m.

There can be a tendency now to rush, particularly as we are walking downhill, but there is still much to see. We descend to Pangboche and visit its historic old monastery, thought to be the oldest in the Khumbu. Continue on to our private permanent camp at Deboche for the night.
Overnight in Namche Bazar.

  • Location: Namche Bazar.
  • Altitude: 3440m

Today is the last day in mountain area of this time so you can explore Namche Bazar and descend towards Lukla. After reaching in Lukla, you can enjoy and share your experience with your staff.

According to your flight schedule, we take flight towards Kathmandu. After reaching in Kathmandu, transfer to on your selected hotel. You can take rest in day time and free time for shopping souvenir. At evening , according to your choice , we will take towards local restaurant for dinner with Nepali cultural dance.

Overnight in Lukla.

Nepal Information:

Nepal is landlocked country located between India and Tibet autonomous region of China. It have highest peak of the world name Mt Everest (Sagarmatha) and eight peaks of the world’s ten highest peaks. It is birthplace of Gautam Buddha place name is Lumbini.
Nepal is small country but tremendous geographic diversity. It rises from Fifty nine meters to eight thousand eight hundred forty eight meters. Nepal is divided into three part Terai, Hill and mountain regions.
In here, the first language is Nepal (Devanagari script) and one hundred twenty three languages. The official language of Nepal is called Nepali.

Passport and Visa:

First thing for travelling anywhere, you need valid passport with at least six months. Weather:

  • Winter : (Dec-Feb): This season is not suitable for Everest Three Passes Trek because of heavy snow. 

Best Time to Go Everest Base Camp Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek:

The best to do trekking in Nepal is September to November and March to May. December and January is also possible to do trekking but winter season so it would be cold and snowfall, we can suggest lower part of mountain trekking. June, July and August is raining season so we suggest contacting us for best trek.

We provide to our client in City area best three star (above three star is on client requested) and lodge/teahouse during the trek. A Teahouse/lodge is the combination of guest house and restaurant where rooms are normally decorated and available bed, pillow and blankets. In every trekking route, we provide only teahouse/lodge because there is no availability of deluxe hotel.

Meals Everest Base Camp Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek:

The meal which is provided in trekking area is included breakfast, lunch and dinner. We provide breakfast and dinner where you stay overnights and our guide will choose restaurant for lunch on the way. Our guide and other staff always give priority t served delicious, hygienic and each place special food. We recommended you to bring water purification tablets.

Guide and porter Everest Base Camp Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek:

We provide you best staff to you who have good experience and government license. In a group, we provide one guide till 16 pax and one porter for each two person. One porter carries 14 kg .
