During the monsoon season heavy rains downpour all day long making trekking in the higher altitudes nearby impossible, and while it’s still possible to do some shorter treks in Nepal such as the Poon Hill trek or Langtang Valley trek the views will be blocked by rain clouds. During the winter the temperatures can at night can go below -20 degrees Celsius and mountain passes can get blocked due to frost and snowfall. During the summer it’s possible to trek but the views won’t be so clear and in the lower elevations the temperature might be too hot, making your trek uncomfortable. During the spring season starting from March to the end of May you can really enjoy trekking in the Himalayas the day temperature will just be right with cooler nights and most of the flora starts to bloom. But during autumn the views are the most clear with blue skies and comfortable temperatures. In the Himalayas the rhododendron flowers bloom during the autumn season and wildlife is the most active.

Remember you are going to trek in the remote Himalayas for a few days to a couple of weeks. So if you’re not comfortable around strangers than joining a shared group might not be for you! Many trekkers make new friends during a trek when passing each other on the trail or meet at resting places.
