Poonhill and Hot Spring Trek is a relatively easy walk meandering through villages and rhododendron forests. Detail Itinerary

Day 1Arrival. Meet by our Himalayan Asia Treks representative in airport and transfer to the hotel. Our representative assists to check in hotel process and give short brief about programme. You can take rest and fresh. You can walk in evening in Thamel (tourist hub of Kathmandu). Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2Trek preparation and Half day sightseeing in Kathmandu. In the morning after breakfast, we introduced your trek guide / leader. It will provide an opportunity to know your guide/leader and can ask questions about treks. After discussing with trek guide/leader, we start sightseeing tour. We provide private vehicle and guide for city sightseeing tour, you have time to shopping for trekking gear.
Kathmandu Durbar Square
The Kathmandu Durbar Square is listed UNESCO and this complex of palaces, courtyards and temples, built between 12th and 18th Centuries, used to be the seat of ancient Malla Kings of Kathmandu. It is the place where kings of Nepal are crowned and their coronations solemnized. An intriguing piece here is the 17th century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages.
Kumari Temple:
Kumari temple is the residence of the living Goddess. Kumari, known as Virgin Goddess has got some specialties, she must be chosen from a typical Newari cast with nobody marks and injuries and will be replaced by another Kumari after puberty.
Kasthamandap:
Kasthamandap is believed to be constructed from the wood of a single tree in the sixteenth century. Kasthamandap is situated near to the Kumari Temple. The name Kathmandu was named after this temple.

Patan Durbar Square:
The Patan Durbar Square is made in 1600s by Mall Dynasty and the royal palace of Malla kings. It is situated in the heart of Patan City, also listed in UNESCO heritage sites.The square, consists of enchanting mélange of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples. The former royal palace complex is the center of Patan's religious and social life and houses a museum containing an array of bronze statues and religious objects. There are three main courtyards or chowks, so named central MulChowk, SundariChowk and Keshav Narayan Chowk in the square. The SundariChowk holds in its center a masterpiece of stone architecture, the Royal bath called Tushahity.The Square also holds old Newari residential houses. There are various other temples and structures in and around Patan Durbar Square build by the Newar Community.

Day 3Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m - 7 hrs).After taking breakfast, we move towards Pokhara. When pass through the Prithivi Highway there are interesting scenery of the mountains, Rivers, waterfalls and jungle as well as farm terraces and villages. The drive takes about 7 hours to reach in Pokhara or you can fly from Kathmandu domestic airport to Pokhara airport. After a rest you can walk around the lake side of the city to explore surrounding areas. Overnight in Pokhara.
Meal: Breakfast.

Day 4Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540m - 5 hrs).After taking breakfast, short drive to Nayapul and start trek. We pass through old villages and meandering green hills and terraced paddy fields along the neighboring yet distant hills and the wind gushing in your face makes for a pleasant and smooth drive with much time to enjoy the landscape and contemplate about the tiring but exciting journey ahead. Trek starts from Nayapul. Till Tirkhedhunga, you enjoy with full of panoramic view of a prosperous riverside village Modi Khola. We trek towards to Sudami where we climb up, reaching Hile and finally reached Tirkhedhunga. Overnight in Tikhedhunga.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 5Trek to Ghorepani (3,194m - 7 hrs). After taking breakfast, we step down towards Ulleri which has amazing landscape with the valley. We can get opportunities to interact with the locals and learn, understand and get a firsthand experience about their way of life. We can enjoy with the majestic view of Machhapuchhre (6997m), Hiunchuli (6441m), and Annapurna South (7219m) and the world's largest rhododendron forest. overnight in Ghorepani.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 6Ghorepani hike early morning to Poon hill (View point)(1hrs), trek down to Ghorepani (5hrs). In the early morning, we do short trek for see the amazing sunrise in Poon hill you can see sunrise and the panoramic view of different Himalayas like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt Annapurna South, Annapurna II , Annapurna III , Annapurna IV, Hiunchuli , Fishtail (Machhapuchhre), Lamjung Himal, Tukuche peak and many more. After seeing sunrise we back to Ghorepani. Overnight in Ghorepani.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 7Trek to Hot spring (Tatopani)(1189m - 6hrs).From Ghorepani the trail goes downhill. Passing the rhododendron forest, there are small villages and Ghara Khola. You can see excellent view on the way. In Tatopani (Hot Spring) , there is natural hot water springs. Overnight in Tatopani (hot spring).
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 8Hot spring to Pokhara. After taking breakfast, drive to Pokhara via Beni. Overnight in Pokhara.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch.

Day 9Explore Pokhara. After taking breakfast, drive to David’s fall, Gupteswor cave. You have free time for your own activities like Paragliding, Bunjy jump, Zip flyer and more. In day time free for shopping. Overnight in Pokhara.
Meal: Breakfast.

Day 10Drive/ fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu and Cultural programme with dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Meal: breakfast and dinner.

Day 11Departure.After taking breakfast, our representative come in hotel and transfer to airport.

  • How is Nepal?
    Nepal is landlocked country located between India and Tibet autonomous region of  China. It have highest peak of the world name Mt Everest (Sagarmatha) and eight peaks of the worlds ten highest peaks. It is birthplace of Gautam Buddha place name is Lumbini.
    Nepal is small country but tremendous geographic diversity. It rises from Fifty nine meters to eight thousand eight hundred forty eight meters. Nepal is divided into three part Terai, Hill and mountain regions.
    In here, the first language is Nepal (Devanagari script) and one hundred twenty three languages. The official language of Nepal is called Nepali.
     
  • Passport and Visa:
    First thing for travelling anywhere, you need valid passport with at least six months. You can obtain visa for Nepal from Nepalese consulates or on arrival in Kathmandu or other boarders or most reliable source of information is currently the Department of Immigration Nepal, if you fill online form and bring with you, then it would be easier to get visa in any Nepal boarder.
     
  • Weather: 
    Nepal’s climate varies with its topography and altitude. The low land Terai area has hot and humid climate that can rise above 40 degree Celsius during summer, middle region weather is pleasant almost all the year and northern region temperature is always cold.

    Nepal has four seasons:
    Spring: Mar-May: The temperature is good in this season and many flower blossom and best season for trekking.
    Summer:  (Jun-Aug): Monsoon season in Nepal, weather is hot and wet at times.
    Autumn: (Sep-Nov): This is the best season for tour and trek in Nepal. In that time, weather is highly pleasant so are the mountains and Himalaya. This is also season of festivals as Nepal celebrates the biggest festival Hindi name Dashain and Tihar. For more detail about Nepal Weather:

  • Insurance:
    We told all our clients to do travel insurance before leaving your home country. Their insurance must covered medical, personal accident, lost of gears, emergency evacuation, and damage or lost their luggage and etc.
     
  • Accommodation:
    Himalayan Asia provides you minimum two star hotels or according to your choice and lodge or Tea house in trekking route. In teahouse or lodge, you can found normal bed with pillow and blankets. We always search and give to our client’s standard lodge with good environment which make your trip happy and healthy.
     
  • Food:
    We have a lot of restaurants with different cuisine but during trek we eat from Nepalese menu especially Pasta, Mo Mo , soup items, Dal Bhat, tea, coffee etc. In trekking route, you will take dinner and breakfast in lodge and lunch will be along the way.
     
  • When is best season for trek and tour for Nepal?
    The best time to come is September to May. If you come in Autumn and spring season , then best time for trekking also.
     
  • Is it suitable trekking for me?
     If you are physically fit and love to walk then you can choose any trekking itinerary from our website to suit you. If you choose long day’s program, then you have t walk more days in mountain. All trekking program can see in our website.   We suggest while going trek, please took one professional guide and if you cannot carry your luggage then took one porter also.
     
  • Need any special equipment for trekking?
    In another column, you can find what you need to carry. Need to bring warm clothes, comfortable shoes, trousers. Or you can buy in Kathmandu before starting trekking.
     
  • What will happen if get any emergency in the trek?
    We suggest to all our clients do insurance before going trekking. If you have any problem, consult with your guide and he will give suggestion. In our office, one staff is available twenty four hours in phone call; you can call him/her.
     
  • Do I need permit before trekking in Nepal?
    For entering in trekking route, you need permit and TIMS card. For restricted area, you need special permit. You can discuss with our consultant.
     
  • Is Nepal safe and especially for single travelling woman?
    Absolutely, Nepal is safe for traveler. For woman and man, Nepal is safe. While going trekking, we suggest take one staff with you. If you go by yourself, you donot know right way and can missed way.

  • Hotel and Accommodation on trek:
    We provide to our client in City area best three star (above three star is on client requested) and lodge/teahouse during the trek. A Teahouse/lodge is the combination of guest house and restaurant where rooms are normally decorated and available bed, pillow and blankets. In every trekking route, we provide only teahouse/lodge because there is no availability of deluxe hotel.
     
  • Meals:
    The meal which is provided in trekking area is included breakfast, lunch and dinner. We provide breakfast and dinner where you stay overnights and our guide will choose restaurant for lunch on the way. Our guide and other staff always give priority t served delicious, hygienic and each place special food. We recommended you to bring water purification tablets. 
     
  • Guide and porter:
    We provide you best staff to you who have good experience and government license. In a group, we provide one guide till 16 pax and one porter for each two person.  One porter carries 20 kg .
     
  • Personal Expenses:
    Personal expenses means which is not covered your package column cost include. Normally, you have to pay for table drinks (alcoholic/non alcoholic beverages), snacks (on the trek), tips, souvenirs, hot showers and extra day if flight cancelled or any other natural disasters.
     
  • Some do’s and do not’s :
    Respect local culture and people.
    The Nepalese people are friendly and hospitalize by nature so you do not have difficulty to adjust in here.
    While you are entering in Temple, just check in some temple not allowed to enter for non Hindus.  If there is permitted to enter, please do not wear leather things and walk in Temple and Stupas clockwise. Before taking photograph, please ask authorized person for permission.
